For over half of today's high school graduates the plan they envisioned does not result in the goals they sought. The results are often devastating for decades, student debt that can't be repaid without affecting lifestyle, or the future of other siblings' education.
--- Our purpose is to help students create a plan that will work, carefully analyzing that plan to help students avoid the pitfalls of 21st Century education and job market.
Although it is sensible to be cautious about the introduction of technology, there is a logic that should not be ignored. Many of today's challenges are being created by fast-moving technology that is upheaving traditional education methods and job market realities. Responding to these realities will require technology, for example "predictive analysis" that can assess the FUTURE status of career categories.
Our goal is a coordinated plan for every student that includes:
We work with students, one by one to identify a career path that fits capabilities and provides adequate income potential.
WE PLAY DEFENSE in the sense of identifying potential flaws in the student's plan that could lead to educational; dropout or inadequate career potential.
Our shared goal is a successful life transition for your child. In the 20th Century it was safe to say that a 4-year college degree was the most important step toward success. Today we must realize that the college degree may be a wonderful step toward a wonderful career for many students, but it may not be the right next step for others. Our attitude should be clear-eyed objectivity -- encouraging the student to aim high when plans and goals are clear and preparation includes both academic ability and personal maturity and work ethic.
The years just ahead can be an exciting journey, or a disappointment with long-term financial implications. Be aware that you are the most important player on the team in the sense of commitment to your goals, hard work as needed, and personal growth if issues such as procrastination, study habits or time management need to be addressed. The parent-child relationship must be based on mutual understanding that important decision are being made that affect years of your life. They should not be made based on conflict or emotion.

In 2020, the 145+ year old Union City Alumni Association converted to a 501(c)(3) Education Foundation, and began an aggressive search for ways to bring value to the students, teacher, and leaders at Randolph Eastern School Corporation (Indiana). COVID slowed us, but also inspired us to add talented alumni from around the country to our Zoom powered Board. Talent includes local teachers and leaders, a former Superintendent of a metro school corporation, a high-level administrator at The Ohio State University, a nationally recognized entrepreneur who has also run a $60 million foundation, and a Harvard Business School alum with credentials as a restless visionary.
In our third year, we discovered the epiphany that drives Advanced Guidance -- that the student debt crisis is far deeper and more dangerous than generally understood, and can be creatively addressed.
The Video below is about the Foundation and reasons to support it. It also introduces AG21.
We welcome collaboration possibilities.
